Codex vs Claude Code

Till now, I was always using Claude Code. I tried Codex, and it made me want to switch.

Because it's faster, uses fewer tokens, and has a nicer UI.

A nicer UI is less critical. Using Claude Code in the terminal in VSCode does the job.

Using fewer tokens does matter.

But speed really changes the experience. I hit the 5h limit much earlier, but I build much faster as well. OpenAI's collaboration with Cerebras is paying off.

For all Claude users, it's still exciting news. I’m looking forward to seeing what Anthropic’s next move will be.
