Week 40: Postars now speaks X

This week, Postars went from LinkedIn-only to multi-platform publishing.

You can now connect X, turn one post into either a single tweet or a thread, review it in the editor, and publish it now or schedule it for later.

That was the headline. The rest of the week filled in the pieces around it:

  • The top Publish button now sends a post to every selected platform that still needs publishing.
  • X Premium accounts can publish much longer posts than the 280-character limit.
  • Video trimming now happens on a draggable filmstrip, with the original recording kept for re-editing.
  • Streaming AI responses.
  • I also fixed 17 bugs along the way.

The biggest lesson of the week was about boundaries.

The browser, the proxy, and the server do not agree on everything. They each have their own rules for origins, request bodies, timezones, and redirects. If you ignore that, you get bugs that look random until you trace the whole path.

The other big lesson was about resilience.

If a thread posts eight tweets, each tweet has to be saved as soon as it goes live. If a compression service fails, the upload should still succeed. If two writers can touch the same record, each one should update only the fields it owns.

That’s the kind of week this was: a lot of product surface area, a lot of edge cases, and a lot of small fixes that made the whole system sturdier.

Next up: a full production check of X publishing, plus a few follow-up improvements around threads, media, and analytics.

If you want, I can share a deeper breakdown of any one part of this release — X publishing, resumable threads, video trimming, or the media compression pipeline.
